The Expat Money Course · Lesson 5 of 5
The coordinated plan: protection, access, legacy
Each lesson so far has been one moving part: residency, pensions, children, estate. A coordinated plan is what holds them together, and it stands on three legs. Protection: your family covered where they actually live, in the currency their life runs in. Access: capital reachable when it is needed, without being forced to sell the wrong thing at the wrong moment. Legacy: what you have built reaching the next generation the way you intend, whichever countries they are in by then.
A plan drawn for one country was not designed to answer all three across several. That is not a criticism of the plan; it is a statement of its scope. The families who feel most settled abroad are usually the ones who had the whole picture looked at once, by someone whose day job is exactly this, and then got on with their lives.
That is the introduction we exist to make. Tell us your situation, and a person, not an algorithm, reads it and considers which regulated specialist fits.
