    Specialist service

Americans living overseas face FBAR, FATCA, and IRA complexity that calls for genuine cross-border experience. We introduce US citizens and green card holders to specialists who understand both sides - HMRC and IRS.

    Questions

What is the difference between an expat financial adviser and an introducer?

A financial adviser provides regulated advice: they assess your situation, recommend specific products or actions, and are accountable to a regulator. An introducer, like Pharos Introductions, connects you with an adviser. We do not give advice, make recommendations, or hold any regulatory status that permits us to do so. Our role is to identify the right specialist for your situation and make a careful, manual introduction.

Do I need a QROPS or can I leave my UK pension where it is?

Leaving your UK pension in place is often a valid option, particularly if you plan to return to the UK or if the pension income will be taxed favourably in your country of residence. A QROPS transfer may be appropriate for long-term non-UK residents who want the pension administered in their country of residence, but transfers above £30,000 require regulated advice, and a 25% Overseas Transfer Charge may apply in some cases. This is a decision that requires specialist input.

Can Pharos Introductions help with multiple financial needs at once?

Yes. Many expats have overlapping needs, pension decisions, offshore investment structures, IHT exposure, and tax residency, that ideally require a specialist who can see the whole picture. When you submit a request, you can describe multiple priorities and we will identify a specialist who covers the breadth of your situation, or coordinate introductions across specialist areas if that better serves your needs.

Which countries do you cover for expat specialist introductions?

We cover all major expat destinations including the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Australia, Portugal, Spain, Guyana, Brazil, Vietnam, and the United States. Our specialist network includes advisers who hold the necessary regulatory permissions for cross-border advice in each jurisdiction. If your country is not listed, submit a request and we will assess whether we can match you.
