When we match you with a specialist, they receive a short brief. Not your documents, not your account numbers: a clear picture of your situation and your question, so the first conversation is worth your time. Here is what that brief contains.

The brief

Illustrative example. Not a real client.

Introduction brief

Residence
Spain. UK citizen. Not a US person.
Situation as submitted
Two UK workplace pensions from previous employers. Intends to retire in Spain within roughly ten years. No current adviser.
Seeking
A regulated review of how the pensions are positioned for retirement in Spain, including whether consolidation makes sense in their circumstances.
Contact
Name, email, and mobile number, shared with the matched firm only, after the client has been informed.

What is included

  • Who you are

Your name and contact details, so the specialist can reach you directly.

  • Where you live

Country of residence, because it decides which specialist can act for you at all.

  • Your situation, in your words

The summary you submitted: what you hold, roughly where, and what prompted the enquiry.

  • What you want resolved

The question you actually asked, so the first conversation starts in the right place.

  • US person status

Whether US tax rules follow you, because it changes who we can introduce you to.

What is deliberately left out

  • Financial documents. We never ask for them, so none exist to pass on.
  • Account numbers, policy numbers, or login details of any kind.
  • Valuations or figures beyond what you chose to write in your own summary.
  • Anything not needed for a meaningful first conversation.

The brief exists to start the right conversation with the right firm. Everything deeper happens directly between you and the specialist, under their own regulated process.

Good to know

The brief, answered

Is the example on this page a real client?

No. It is a representative illustration written to show the level of detail a specialist receives. We never publish real client information, anonymised or otherwise.

Will I know before my details are shared?

Yes. Nothing is auto-forwarded. You are informed before any introduction is made, and your details go to one matched firm only, never to a list.

See the full process
Why does the brief not include my financial documents?

Because the specialist does not need them to have a first conversation, and we have no business holding them. If the engagement proceeds, you share documents directly with the specialist under their own regulated process.

What does the specialist do with the brief?

It gives them the context for a meaningful first conversation: your situation, your location, and your question. From there the relationship is entirely between you and them. Pharos steps back and has no ongoing role.

How we vet specialists

Your brief starts with the form. No documents, no obligation, and nothing shared until you have been informed.

We review every submission before any introduction is considered.
